Plastics for use in contact with foodstuffs

Plastics for use in contact with foodstuffs meet new regulatory standards

For some time now, semi-finished plastic products that come into direct contact with foodstuffs have had to comply with the EU10/2011 regulation. Also known as the ‘Plastic Implementation Measure (PIM)’, this rule is intended to eliminate toxic effects as a consequence of interaction between food substances and plastics.

In order to serve our clients in the food industry, at Hemabo we have an extensive portfolio of semi-finished plastic products that meet these regulatory requirements as a basis for our manufactured products. This also includes plastics that are optically or inductively detectable and antimicrobial plastics.
